Qualified teachers who took part in the teacher promotion examination in February have been in their current ranks for up to five years since joining the Ghana Education Service.

A pass in the February 2021 aptitude test will trigger their promotion to their next appropriate rank in the teaching service.

Per the information gathered by this portal, scripts from the Teacher Promotion Exams held in February have been marked, and results generated from the exercise are pending financial clearance. Once financial clearance is given, successful teachers will be put on their newly acquired ranks.

This would lead to an automatic enrollment of teachers onto their newly promoted ranks; Their salaries would be adjusted to reflect the new scale and level in the service.

Teachers should expect the release of the results on the GES promotion portal soon. When the results are released, teachers would have to acquire a promotion result e-voucher paid for through mobile money to get access to their results and the provisional promotion letters, if any. Teachers are to note that the original promotion letters will be dispatched to their district and regional offices for collection.

Effects of passing and not passing the GES Promotion Exams Results

Teachers who did not make the pass mark would have another opportunity to re-sit the examination during the next sitting.

One key benefit of passing the GES aptitude test for promotion part from the increase in salary is that it positions the qualified applicant to take up leadership roles in the service. These leadership roles include becoming Assistant Headmaster, Headmaster, and others.
