In-service teachers license: Issuance begins in Greater Accra today

The National Teaching Council (NTC) will commence the distribution of in-service teachers licenses to the staff of GES stationed in the Greater Accra Region today, Wednesday, 12th May 2021. Dates for other regions are yet to be made public.

In-service teachers license and Non-professional teachers

Non-professional teachers will be issued with a temporary in-service teachers license. This is expected to offer them the opportunity to upgrade themselves and write the teacher licensure to be qualified: Council said.

The Council upon consultation with stakeholders indefinitely extended the May 7, 2021 deadline and has since then called on teachers to register for the license at the Teacher Portal Ghana.

“Teachers are to note that registration at the TPG is the first step for qualified teachers to be issued the license. After licensing of teachers, NTC will register and issue a temporary license to non-qualified teachers.”

In a related development, the 2nd Teacher Licensure Education Seminar For Private Schools is scheduled to take place on May 22. Over 500 teachers who took part in the first seminar will have their data sent to the NTC for processing for the council’s database on private school teachers. This is expected to make it easy for such teachers to get their Non-professional teachers license. The leadership of the Private Schools Teachers Council has therefore called on all teachers to take part in the upcoming Teacher Licensure Education Seminar.

Teachers who are yet to register are encouraged to log on to  https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh to register for their license.
