12.5% increment of gov’t workers salary claim false :Dr Adutwum
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the Minister of Education designate, has refuted claims of a possible increment of gov’t workers salaries by the central government for public sector employees, including that of teachers.
His comment comes after an online news portal published he had said the Nana Akufo-Addo government in due course this year will increase the salary of government workers by 12.5 percent, a report he has denied.

According to the news portal, the Bosomtwe Member of Parliament announced the workers salary increment speaking in an interview on Kumasi-based Wontumi TV Wednesday, January 27, 2021.
“I am in the Education Ministry and I can say for sure that teachers are going to receive the 12.5% increment,” the portal stated.
The teaching Minister denying the claim in a social media post sighted by Educationweb.com.gh stated categorically that no such remark had been made by him on any platform, not even on the said Wontumi TV.
Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum consequently urges members of the general public to disregard news about the increment of gov’t workers salaries by 12.5% the circulating news and treat any such information as false.
