Prempeh College wins 2020 Virtual Robofest World Championships

Ghana’s Senior High Schools have taken the Robofest World Championships by storm since 2018. The 2020 virtual Robofest World Championships has been won by Prempeh College.
Before achieving this feat, Mamfe Methodist Girls’ Senior High School had won the trophy in 2019.
Ghana’s representatives continue to outclass top schools across from the US, UK and Asia, evidence that, when the right policies and programmes are instituted, students from Ghana can hold their own against any school or student globally.

In his congratulatory message, he said: “This feat was also achieved by Mamfe Methodist Girls’ Senior High School in 2019 and shows that Ghana has a lot of potential in this field and must be nurtured well to support our technological advancement.

A cross-section of Ghanaians, while reacting to the news on the Vice President’s official Facebook page called on the government to invest in the field of study, build a world-class centre for robotics and strengthen STEM education,
The centre would go a long way to train more students and build their interest in robotics and STEM.
