First Lady Rebecca Akuffo Addo Receives Honorary Degree from UPSA

First Lady Rebecca Akuffo-Addo has been awarded with an Honorary Degree, Doctor of Humane Letters (HonD.HL) at the 5th Session of the 15th Congregation by University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) on Tuesday December 12, 2023.
She was awarded for her philanthropist work and support for humanity in the country. First Lady Rebecca Akuffo-Addo so far has set up an initiative that aimed at empowering women and children financially.
Educational System Must Not be Changed with Every Change of Government
The first lady, dedicated her Honorary degree to passionate Ghanaian women and children who are playing a significant roles in changing lives of individuals in the society.
She furthered acknowledged his husband, His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo the president of the Republic of Ghana for his support and benevolence to her aims and aspirations.
“I am humbled to have received an honorary degree of Doctor of Humane Letters (HonD.HL) from the University of Professional Studies, Accra earlier today together with two illustrious daughters of the land, Justice Adeline Bamford-Addo (Rtd), the first female Speaker of Parliament who served from (7 January 2009 to 7 January 2013) and the former first female Chief Justice of the Republic, Justice Georgina Theodora Wood, who served in office for a period of 10 years (from 2007 to June 2017).

“I am thankful to God who gives me the strength to keep going, my husband, The President of our dear nation, who has been my greatest cheerleader, my children, family, friends, partners, and staff.
This Honorary Doctorate, in all humility, is for the women and children of Ghana, whose resilience and drive continue to inspire me. It is an honour to receive it on their behalf.” first lady Rebecca Akuffo.
Former Speaker of Parliament and Chief Justice of Ghana, Georgina Bamford Addo and Georgina Wood were also honoured at the 15th Congregation at the ceremony held at University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) for their significant role in nation building.
