The West African Examination Council’s deployed security systems seem to be working in the ongoing WASSCE 2022 for school candidates, as it has been able to track and pick up candidates smuggling mobile phones into the examination hall.
Ahead of the start of the examination, WAEC disclosed that candidates caught engaging in this act will have all their results cancelled, but this did not scare some students writing the 2022 WASSCE.
Invigilators were also caught in the act as some of them were caught taking screenshots of questions as well as using mobile phones to help the candidates within the examination hall.
Students have been taking snapshots of questions from the exam hall and forwarding them to social media groups for solutions, the report said.
In WAEC’s 16th September report on the ongoing examination for only Ghanaians students, it said, its “Inspectors and Monitoring teams continue to report cases of candidates bringing mobile phones into the examination halls to take snapshots of questions and receive solutions from Telegram channels and social media groups.”
Schools in which some candidates were caught in the act and the subjects that were screenshots have been made public by WAEC.
They include the following.
