The Ghana Police Service has begun investigations into the death of Eric Johnson, CEO of Cossy Hill Hotel, also known as Jirapa Dubai. According to Police Statement, Eric Johnson was found in a pool of blood in one of his hotel rooms.

The Member of Parliament of Jirapa constituency, Cletus Seidu Dapilah, has placed a GH¢100k bounty on the killers of Jirapa Dubai CEO.

Cletus Seidu took this significant step to seek justice for the tragic death of Eric Johnson, the CEO of Royal Cosy Hills Hotel.

Following the disturbing incident at Mr. Johnson’s private residence over the weekend, MP Dapilah has publicly announced a reward of GH¢100,000 for any individual who can provide credible information leading to the identification and arrest of the perpetrators responsible for Mr. Johnson’s untimely demise.

Mr. Johnson’s murder has shaken the local community, prompting swift action from law enforcement. As of now, seven individuals have been apprehended in connection with the crime. However, the circumstances surrounding Mr. Johnson’s death raise troubling questions, as there were no signs of forced entry into his residence. MP Dapilah has emphasized the need for the community to come together and assist the authorities in uncovering the truth behind this heinous act.

In addition to MP Dapilah’s efforts, Nicholas Soyiri, the Municipal Chief Executive for Jirapa, has expressed solidarity with the pursuit of justice. Despite the heartbreak caused by Mr. Johnson’s passing, Mr. Soyiri remains optimistic about the capabilities of the justice system in bringing the perpetrators to account for their actions. He stresses the importance of not only apprehending suspects but ensuring that the true culprits face the consequences of their actions.

The Ghana Police Service has commenced investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of Mr. Eric Johnson, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cossy Hill Hotel at Jirapa in the Upper West Region.

The deceased was found on 11th February, 2024 lying in a pool of blood in one of the rooms at the hotel.

The Regional Crime Scene Management Team has visited the scene of the incident. One person has since been detained to assist the investigation.

The Inspector-General of Police has deployed a team of investigators and experts led by the Director-General/CID to work with the Upper West Regional Police Command to ensure a thorough investigation into the incident.” Police says.

Reports indicate that Mr Johnson was murdered by some assailants on Sunday, February 11. Taking to his social media page to confirm the incident, a journalist in the region Mornah Banung-kae Kennedy described the situation as sad.

“Owner of Jirapa Dubai allegedly murdered? How did we get here? A very sad way indeed to begin the year,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, the police are yet to release any information on the incident.

About Mr Eric Johnson

Mr Eric Johnson was an entrepreneur and the CEO of the Royal Cosy Hill Hotel and Resort, which according to its website offers visitors “the unique opportunity to explore a previously-unexplored parts of Upper West Region in style.”

As an entrepreneur, Mr Johnson believed strongly in developing deprived areas.

In 2017, he revealed that he decided to site the Hotel in Jirapa to create employment for the youth and also to help open the area to tourists to help boost the local economy.

“Government cannot do it alone; as such private sector participation is very important for national development,” he said.

The Hotel, popularly called ‘Jirapa Dubai’ has won an award from the Ministry of Tourism for its contribution towards the promotion of tourism in the Upper West Region.
