WAEC asked to make 2023 BECE and WASSCE results checking free

An organisation known as EduWatch (Africa Education Watch) has petitioned the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to make results checking free for Basic Education Certificate and West African Senior School Certificate Examination candidates.

EduWatch’s appeal comes after the management of the non-profit organisation last year said prospective students who sat for BECE and WASSCE for School can request their results via SMS for a fixed amount of GHC6.00. Currently, a result checker is selling at a retail price of GHS17.00

But, describing the current system where students purchase results cards to check their results as unfair, EduWatch has urged WAEC to make results checking free and not to use that as another business to extort money from candidates.

How to check BECE results

1. Visit the BECE results portal (https://eresults.waecgh.org/)

2. Enter your Index number

3. Confirm your Index number

4. Select examination type (BECE School)

5. Select examination year (2022)

6. Enter your serial number

7. Enter your PIN

8. Verify the captcha and click on the submit button for the window to display your BECE results.

How to check WASSCE result

1. Visit the WASSCE result portal (https://ghana.waecdirect.org/)

2. Enter your Index number

3. Select Examination type (WASSCE School)

4. Select Examination year (2023)

5. Enter your Date of birth (day-month-year)

6. Enter your voucher card serial number

7. Enter the PIN on the voucher card

8. Re-enter your Index number and

9. Select Examination year (2023)

10. Click on the Submit button and wait for your results to be displayed in the next window.

In Case the BECE results checking for free has not been implemented check these procedures

Buy the checker follow the steps below.

• 1. Go to waec-results-checkers
• 2. From the list of products, select BECE result checkers
• 3. Choose the quantity you want to to buy eg. 1 or 2 under the How Many (– and+ ) button
• 4. Click Add to bag
• 5. Click Check Out
• 6. Enter your name, email and phone number (Momo Number Only)
• 7. Complete the payment with the code sent to your phone via text message
• 8. You will be directed to our WhatsApp Chat
• 9. Prove the email and phone number (Momo Number) use used to purchase
• 10. We confirm and deliver the Result Checker via the same WhatsApp.
