The Ghana Education Service has released the 2020 SHS placements online at the Computerized School Selection & Placement System (CSSPS) portal. In its latest update on 26th February, it said, the placements will be out today.
The 2020 school placements released include the following :
#1. 39,163 out of the 533693 who wrote the 2020 BECE will miss both automatic placement and self placement.
#2. Nearly 151,266 candidates who are qualified for placement will have to do self placement.
#3. Some 343,264 candidates have been automatically placed in schools that matched their grades.
Students who obtained the right raw scores for programmes of study have been placed in over 721 schools across the country.
The candidates passed the 2020 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) into various Senior High Schools, Vocational and Technical Institutes for the 2020/2021 academic year.
The 2020 BECE results were released on 16th November 2020 and students have been anticipating the release of schools.
However, some candidates who were not automatically placed would have to do a self placement if they are to be admitted into any of the Free SHS available across the country.
Candidates can access their school placements by buying a voucher from vendors or do so via mobile money and log onto cssps.gov.gh
BECE graduates who use the self placement module can make corrections or change their schools and associated accommodation and programme even after placement, but not after they have enrolled in a school.
The new addition is to ensure that there is less or no need for students and their parents to rush to regional centres for corrections they can carry out remotely.

These students are the 4th batch of students to enjoy the government of Ghana’s Free SHS policy since its inception in 2017.
