The 46 public Colleges of Education admission list for the 2021/2022 academic year list for first choice applicants will be released from Sunday, October 31, 2021, a source familiar with the admission list has told EducationWeb.com.gh.

In a related development, the National Conference of Principals of College of Education (PRINCOF) has met with the Minister of Education, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum on Colleges of Education reopening dates for the next academic year.

PRINCOF and the Ministry of Education (MoE) after the meeting have agreed for continuing students of the 46 public Colleges of Education will report to campus on Saturday, November 6, 2021, and first-year students on January 8, 2022.

“We wish o inform all trainees in the 46 public Colleges of Education that approval has been given to the proposed as structured, based on the 14-week duration and subject to adjustment of the reopening dates,” they said in a release.

The reopening dates according to the National Conference of Principals of CoE’s is to allow for resit-examination for the continuing students and new admissions to cover the current graduate cohort of Senior High Schools (SHSs).

The Education Minister at the meeting told Management of the various Colleges of Education to ensure that fresh students admission do not exceed numbers that were admitted in the 2019/2020 academic year.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, Emmanuel Kwasi Kwarteng has said the Controller and Accountant General’s Department (CAGD), is currently processing the payment of teacher trainees allowance.

The Education Ministry spokesman in an interview with Accra-based Citi 93.7 FM monitored by EducationWeb.com.gh said the Ministry of Finance (MoF) has approved the full payment of the ‘delayed’ 6 months allowance.

“The Ministry of Finance is responsible for releasing the funds. It is now at the level of the Controller and Accountant General’s Department for final disbursement. So I’m sure as soon as possible the money will be released,” he stated.
