2021 National Standardised Test Results: MoE gives results release date

The Ministry of Education has hinted at the date for the release of the 2021 National Standardised Test (NST) for the close to 562,000 students who participated in the exams.

The test which was administered to only basic four public school students by the West African Examinations Council on behalf of the government will be released in the coming weeks according to the Deputy Education Minister, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour.

Rev. John Ntim Fordjour has disclosed that the (NST) result will provide relevant data which will assist the Ministry of Education to appreciate the strength and weaknesses of students in literacy and numeracy.

He said: “In the next couple of weeks, the report of the 2021 national standardized test will be published and we will know the level of improvement of the class four pupils across the country.

He furthered that the 2021 examination was successful and leakage-free and that WAEC will be asked to carry out a similar test for another section of students at the basic level in the future.

When the 2021 National Standardised Test results are made public, basic four pupils who took part in the test will be given copies of the result and this will be broken down into numeracy and literature competence, and performance for parents to comprehend.

Per the plan of the Ministry of Education,  learners in basic two, four, and six students in public basic schools will be administered the same examination based on their levels to determine the prospective pupils’ academic performance.

Some 561,595 primary four students took part in 2021. The National Standardised Test results of the exam which was administered at 2,609 examination centres nationwide with at least 200 pupils writing the examination in each of the centres in 2021 will be out soon.

The exact date for the administration of the examination for basic 2 and basic 6 is yet to be announced by the Ministry of Education.
