The pack ensures that you start monitoring student performance ahead of the school selection stage and give them as well as their parents feedback as to which schools the child can select now. This can help learners put in extra effort if they are falling behind.

Academic performance is measured using up to five mock examinations. Mock examinations may include end of term examinations. This is at the discretion of the school using the system. The best set of examination scores to use remains the mock examinations.

 The system is programmed to help stakeholders make an informed decision as to which category of schools should be chosen for students during the school selection phase of the BECE registration.

Often than not, schools are chosen by many parents and students based on taste and preference rather than their academic strength and the competition that exists in such schools.

Knowing a student’s raw scores can help make the right choices rather than using unconventional approaches to determine which school is good enough for a student.

How to set up GEN BECE School Placement Pack

1. Install GEN BECE School Placement Pack on your PC
2. Open the setup, which is installed as an excel sheet
3. On top of your page upon clicking to open, click on enable
4. This opens the interface.

How to Register School and Students

1. On the home page labeled QUICK ACCESS, click on start to open the system.
2. Enter the Examination year for the first candidate
3. Enter School Name
4. Student index number/ID and student names
5. Click the GO BACK button to return to the home page

How to Enter Mock Number in the GEN BECE School Placement Pack

The mock number is the numerical value representing the number of mocks taken so far by the student. If the student has taken a second mock which you want to update on the system, the mock number would be 2. Ensure that each time you want to update the data with a new set of mock data for students; you update this information and save it to continue.

The mock number has a default of 1

To enter the right mock number

1. Click Enter Mock Number
2. Enter the mock number into the yellow box provided and save

Both Enter Mock Number and Check Raw Score Button serve the same purpose. They also help you navigate to the raw score section where you monitor the individual raw scores of students.

How to enter Mock Results

Entering the students’ mock results is an important section of the entire system. To do that…

1. Click on the exact mock result you want to enter. For the first mock, Click on Enter Mock 1 from the home page.
2. Enter the raw scores of the candidates for the core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science, and Social Studies
3. For the other subjects, enter only the best two subject’s raw scores. For example, if the student performed better in BDT and French than the rest of the subjects, enter the raw scores for the student in the subject space provided.
4. Do not forget to always save your data.

This procedure must be repeated for each mock till the 5^th mock. However, a school may decide how many mocks to enter into the system. Refer to How to Enter Mock Number and ensure the right number is entered.

CHARTS

The charts button on the home page helps you to navigate to the performance chat session where the results obtained are graphed to give a pictorial overview of students’ performance.

SUGGESTED SCHOOLS

Once you click on the button, you get to see the suggested school categories from which students are to choose their five schools. The system indicates the school category from which a student’s compulsory day school be chosen from.

It displays the category from which each choice from the 1^st to the 5^th school choice should be made from.

2022 BECE School Selection Made Easy

Schools may have their own ideas and options as to the 2022 BECE School Selection, but the results of the system should guide any decisions contrary to it. Schools may alter their suggestion of the system when selecting schools, but we believe our system offers up to 95% accuracy in the results it generates. This pack makes the school selection decision less stressful.
