Upon numerous requests from our African peace advocates, “2022 HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training” for West Africa is now finally ready! With this. It is hoped that more seeds of peace would be sown across Africa, and the seeds to grow into trees of peace.

The organizers of the programme seek your participation in this noble purpose to achieve peace in Africa.

Who qualifies to apply for the 2022 HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training

● Applicant: Anyone who can implement peace education to the public from an NGO, Education Institution, Media, Youth, Religious Organization, etc., with a devoted heart for peace. Approved by the representative of the institution/organization

● Application Period: March 14~April 2, 2022

● Nomination Process
– Screening of Applicants: until April 3, 2022
– Announcement: April 5, 2022

● Training Schedule
– April 9~May 28, 2022 (8 weeks)
(Orientation: April 9, 2022 10:00 AM GMT)

① To train leaders who can teach the values of peace and co-existence to youth that are exposed to conflict, discrimination, poverty and violence, and to help youth to grow as peaceful citizens
② To train professional peace educators who can implement HWPL Peace Education in various settings such as conflict areas, etc.

① To implement systematic and sustainable peace education in academic institutions and NGOs
② To give equal opportunity of peace education to all youth in Western Africa living in various settings
③ Implement peace education in all cities of the country

235 graduates from last year’s training became peace educators, who with dedication have conducted more than 100 sessions of Peace Education in 49 NGOs and academic institutions within just six months. In Nigeria, peace education has been delivered in 13 states (out of 37).

HWPL peace educators who led peace education in classes expressed their testimony of discovering positive changes in the students’ values, which allowed them to realize that PEACE IS POSSIBLE. We hope the light of peace would spread even further in Africa through this year’s training.

The Orientation of 2022 HWPL Peace Educator Empowerment Training on April 9.

HWPL started its peace education project in December 2015 and has signed MOAs and MOUs with ministries of education and schools to implement peace education worldwide.

In 2021, HWPL Southern Seoul & Gyeonggi Branch, together with NGOs, academic institutions, media, etc. in Africa, established a practical initiative for peace, the “Peace Educator Empowerment Training” through a series of fruitful meetings and discussions to achieve sustainable peace in Africa.

235 graduates of the program became peace educators, who have passionately conducted more than 100 sessions of Peace Education in 49 NGOs and academic institutions within 6 months. For Nigeria, peace education is being run in 13 out of 37 states.

Peace Educators constantly emphasize the transformation in students’ lives as they’ve come to value peace. More so, peace educators share that their values in life have changed through the course and are pledging to work endlessly for the peace of Africa.

Upon numerous requests from Peace Educators, “2022 Peace Educator Empowerment Training” will commence for the seeds of peace sown to grow as a tree of peace and for more seeds of peace to be spread all across Africa.

We hope you’d take on this valuable journey of peace with us and be empowered to become a peace educator and a peace messenger, to achieve peace in Africa together as “One.”

If you were unable to complete the training in 2021 due to circumstances, we hope to see you again this year.
