2025 SHS Placements Released Today As Dep. Minister of Education Warns Parents of Fraudsters

The Ministry of Education has officially confirmed that the much-anticipated 2025 Senior High School (SHS) placements will go live today under the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS). Parents and guardians across Ghana are urged to stay alert and avoid falling prey to fraudsters promising to secure placements for a fee.
Placement is Free – Don’t Pay Anyone
Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Clement Apaak, issued a strong warning:
“Placement is free. Do not pay money to anyone who claims he/she can help you with placement. Anyone who demands money in exchange for placement is a fraudster and should be reported to the police immediately.”
This reminder comes amid concerns that scammers take advantage of desperate parents during the placement period each year.
CSSPS Goes Live Today
Speaking ahead of the release, Dr. Apaak reassured parents that the process will be transparent and free from interference.
“Our students who completed the BECE, whose results are out, will be placed through the CSSPS today. We expect that the students will be placed according to the way the system has been programmed to place them,” he said.
He further assured that the Ministry had worked hard to prevent the technical and human-related challenges that marred previous years.
No Manual Manipulation of Placements
Dr. Apaak stressed that this year’s system will run smoothly without human intervention:
“We have decided to allow the system to function and work, and we will not seek to interfere by manually manipulating the system. We want to eliminate the biased, sometimes financially induced manipulation of the system.”
Scramble for Grade ‘A’ Schools
The Deputy Minister acknowledged that spaces in Grade ‘A’ schools remain limited and advised parents to accept placements in other schools.
He emphasized that success is not tied to attending a top-ranked school:
“Success is not predicated on attending a Grade ‘A’ school. It depends on the commitment of the student, discipline, parental support, and the efforts of the school.”
Resolution Centre for Challenges
To address placement-related concerns, the Ministry has set up a Resolution Centre at GNAT Hall in Accra. The centre will operate 24 hours daily with full security support. Issues such as gender mismatches (a boy placed in a girls’ school or vice versa) and program misplacements (for example, choosing a technical institute but being placed in a different school type) will be resolved promptly.
According to Dr. Apaak, the resolution centre aims to ensure that all placement issues are addressed before students report to school next month.

As the 2025 SHS placements go live today, parents and guardians are reminded that the system is free, fair, and transparent. Fraudsters cannot secure placements — only the official CSSPS portal determines results.
Students are encouraged to focus on making the most of whichever school they are placed in, as success depends on effort, discipline, and support, not just the name of the school.
