GES denies recruitment of 2022 backlog and 2023 trained teachers

The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has denied a claim indicating the Ministry of Finance has issued financial clearance for the recruitment of 2022 backlog and 2023 trained teachers.

This comes after a purported statement from the Ghana Education Service said the Ministry of Finance has issued Financial Clearance to recruit 2,247 2022 backlog and 17,478 2023 trained teachers.

The statement, which has been described as fake by the Ghana Education Service (GES), said the recruitment exercise will commence on Wednesday, 12th November 2025, at 12:00 noon.

It also said qualified applicants are requested to formally apply on the Ghana Education Service online application portal by logging in to https://www.gespromotions.com and following the instructions.

Citing Friday, November 28, 202,5, as the deadline for submission of application, the statement said the 2022 backlog and 2023 trained teachers recruitment process is very transparent.

“Applicants should therefore be aware of any person who may approach them on the pretext of assisting them for recruitment at a fee.

GES therefore advises all applicants not to make any payment for this process. Whoever pays money does so at his/her own risk. We count on your usual cooperation,” the fake statement stated.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) management has urged the general public to disregard such statements and any information about the 2025 recruitment that is not officially from them.

“Stay wary of such fake letters,” the Ghana Education Service noted in a social media post sighted by GhanaEducation.org, labelling the purported backlog and trained teachers’ recruitment statement as fake.
