They are believed to be righteous since they are chaste and virgins.

Before one can become a priest, the person should be a Catholic and the person should not be married.

For this chastity and holiness to really happen in the popes, they are given everything they ever wanted. Normally not in cash but rather in kind such as Cars, food, accommodation.

This will make them have enough time to do their expected jobs and Popes.
