Onua TV has finally reacted to this publication and has made it clear that staff members of the media house were able to put out the fire before the arrival of the fire men. The media house is therefore urging fire men be professional and factual with their publications.
“Onua TV has expressed concern about the publication of a fire incident that occurred on Monday August 21, 2023, on the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) social media platform. The publication falsely reported that “a crew from the headquarters substation, upon a call, arrived on time to help prevent the spread of fire”. The facts are that the fire had already been put out by our staff, with onsite extinguishers, before the firefighters arrived. Moreover, the fire did not occur “in the Studio used by Onua Showtime with Mcbrown” as reported. Rather, the incident happened at the entrance to the studio. The false publication was widely republished on other social media and online platforms, thereby causing alarm and unnecessary panic among our stakeholders. The misrepresentation of facts was unprofessional and GNFS is urged to be factual in its publications.” Onua TV reacted
