PRESEC Legon gives Accra Academy and GSTS SHOWDOWN To Win Quarter Final
The defending champions of the Nation Science and Maths Quiz, PRESEC Legon have made it into the semi-finals after dispatching Accra Academy and GSTS in the last quarter-final of the competition.
Accra Academy was unlucky after putting up a fierce contest to unseat the defending champions.
Presbyterian Boys’ Secondary School (PRESEC), Legon, has made it into the Semi-finals of the 2023 National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ). They beat Accra Academy and Ghana Secondary Technical School (GSTS) in the last semifinal contest.
PRESEC started the contest strongly, taking the lead in the first round with 28 points. Accra Academy followed closely with 26 points, while GSTS had 12 points.
In the second round, PRESEC extended their lead, scoring another 20 points to bring their total to 40. Accra Academy scored 16 points in the second round, while GSTS scored 31 points.
PRESEC maintained their lead throughout the contest, starting in round one, to bring their total to 63. Accra Academy scored a total of 58 points, while GSTS scored 31 points.
With a final score of 63 points, PRESEC was declared the winner of the semifinal contest. They will now face Mfantsipim School and Keta Sec. Tech in the finals on Thursday, October 19.
PRESEC’s victory in the semifinals was a remarkable achievement. Accra Academy and GSTS are both well-known schools with strong academic records.
However, PRESEC’s students and teachers were confident in their abilities, and they worked hard to prepare for the contest. Their hard work and dedication paid off in the end.
PRESEC’s victory in the semifinals was also a significant moment in the school’s history. PRESEC is one of the most successful schools in the NSMQ, having won the competition seven times. Their victory in the semifinals means that they have a chance to win their eighth NSMQ title if they can win their Simi final contest
