Job Vacancy For Supervisor – Production

ANGLOGOLD ASHANTI (IDUAPRIEM) LIMITED (A subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti Limited) operate the combine Teberebie and Iduapriem open-pits gold mines at Tarkwa in the Western Region of Ghana and has a work force of over 1400, including contractors.

Position: Supervisor – Production
Grade: Stratum I – Mid
Department: Mining
Number of Position(s): One (1)

Role Purpose

• To supervise and support Mine Operations crews on a rotating shift schedule including planning, organizing, directing, and monitoring the activities of the crew, administration of company policies.

Role Accountabilities

• Ensure the safe and effective utilization of assigned contractor equipment to meet daily production targets.
• Utilize Rompad equipment and crusher to achieve planned targets.
• Minimize dilution by loading to the right elevation on the pad.
• Ensure the upgrade and buffer stockpiles are properly managed to prevent high level downtimes.
• Liaise between pit production and Rompad to improve direct dump to optimize cost.
• Ensure efficient dewatering of the pits during the back shift.
• To ensure that the Mine Contractor performs works in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with the Contract.
• To co-ordinate all other activities within the open pit waste dumps and site environs.

Qualification Required & Experience

• BSc Mining Engineering or equivalent from a reputable institution
• Certified or eligible to be certified as a Mine Captain

Experience

• Minimum of 1-3 years working experience in related field within the mining industry

Technical & Other Competencies

• Demonstrated experience and knowledge in mining equipment.
• Experience with large scale open-pit hard rock mining
• Experience in, progress claims and contract variations, preferably in a Mining Alliance environment
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English
• Must possess very strong human relations skills and ability to interact with people of diverse culture and value.
• Shot firers certificate of competency or equivalent.
• Possess a valid driver’s licence and proficiency in driving light vehicle.
