Achimota Rastafarian student Tyrone Marhguy scores 8-As in WASSCE, proving that the intelligence of a student has nothing to do with his or her hairstyle. Barely three years ago, Achimota SHS and the teacher unions ganged up to push out the Rastafarian student, Tyrone Marhguy, from accessing secondary education after he was placed in Achimota through the CSSPS.
After fierce legal battles in court, he was granted relief to be admitted to Achimota School. His results after WASSCE are what can be termed a perfect score, as he scored grade 1 in all eight subjects as a science student at Achimota School. At some point in time, he was part of the school’s team preparing for the National Science and Math Quiz.
Stonebwoy took to Twitter to congratulate Tyrone Marhguy for scoring 8As in his WASSCE and offered him 10 VIP tickets to #BhimConcert23 on Friday, 22.12.23, at the Accra Sports Stadium.
In his celebration statement on Twitter, he said, Odds against odds. 8As bagged!!. We did it, family; we made it!
This message sums up all his efforts and challenges, from the day Achimota said no to his access to secondary education to the release of the WASSCE results. His performance is a vindication of all who supported him through the trying moments.
