Reactions As Ministers From Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger Republic Plan To Establish New Confederation

Social media users were divided after ministers from Burkina Faso, Mali, and the Niger Republic intended to establish a news confederation.

Reports from PUNCH state that the Malian foreign ministry announced on Thursday that ministers from Burkina Faso, Mali, and the Niger Republic intend to move forward with the formation of a confederation. All the while, the three nations were strengthening their alliance, which posed a danger to further unification in West Africa. Meeting after meeting, the economically struggling Sahel region’s neighbors have been asked to reconsider their intention to exit from the Economic Community of West African states in January 2024.

The bloc has warned of the additional hardships that would accompany this withdrawal, and the neighbors have only been meeting for a few weeks. Nonetheless, after the news site shared the title on social media, it sparked a huge reaction from random users.

Social Media Users React

“Can anyone deny them their choice. Them that realize that democracy to West Africa is demoncrazy. They have also come to know that ECOWAS is useless and serves nothing than crass stupidity. They have promptly and rightfully withdrawn their member leaving behind a good for nothing organization ran by senile corrupt and criminally old men, some of who are sitting on unpopular mandate. This is a good move by Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger Republic. God bless the patriotic army chaps in those countries.”

“Either you like it or not, Military Government favored Nigerian than this evil DemonCRAZY we called DEMOcracy. Tell me just one state created by a civilian Government in Nigeria?. Can you estimate the huge amount of money Embezzled by Senators, Reps, Judiciary sectors, Houses of assemblies, Governors and their cabinets, Heads of services, local government chairmen, etc.?”

“Good decision, they don’t want to be slaves anymore like the rest. You can see how Nigeria has been sold to the American dollar and there terrible hunger in the land. We have never had it so bad., children are being wiped on the street just for a hundred naira bread. A dollar is now 1536 naira.”

“They will crash, they will end in shame. that decision cannot make their country the way they wanted because that is their aim. ECOWAS will use politicians to make them commit offenses of mass killings & they be dealt with, just watch out.”

“It will not do them any good. It is just the initial garage. These countries have no resources to sustain themselves. They will be going cap into one of these European countries for money to sustain the organization.”
