Ghana Education News| Ghana records 14 COVID-19 deaths in 48 hours according to the Ghana Health Service (GHS). The GHS confirmed that fourteen people have died from Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the last 48 hours, increasing the total death toll to 982. As of Wednesday, August 18, 2021, there have been 968 deaths.

According to a GHS update, the country has registered 423 new instances of the disease (COVID-19) as of Friday, August 20, 2021, taking the total number of active cases in the country to 6,850.
The overall number of cases in the country is 115,525, accounting for 7.3% of the test positivity rate.
There are 107, 693 people who have recovered or been discharged, with 34 people in serious condition and 20 others in critical condition.
Greater Accra continues to have the most infections, followed by the Ashanti Region, the Western Region, and finally the Eastern Region.

The Greater Accra still leads with the highest number of infections followed by the Ashanti Region and the Central Region. The “Ghana records 14 COVID-19 deaths in 48 hours” report from the GHS must serve as a wake-up call to us all who have stopped observing the health safety protocols.
It is important that all Ghanaians adhere to the covid-19 protocols religiously to ensure we guard against the spread of covid-19.
