NSS Opens Registration for Defaulters, Private Candidates

Registration for the 2024/2025 service year is now NSS Opens Registration for defaulters and private candidates, as announced in a press release on Wednesday, April 10. This opportunity is available for individuals who have previously started but not completed national service, as well as private candidates who have been certified by recognized tertiary institutions.

REGISTRATION OF DEFAULTERS AND PRIVATE CANDIDATES OPENS FOR 2024/2025 SERVICE YEAR (NSS Opens Registration for Defaulters)

The Management of the National Service Scheme (NSS) wishes to inform the public that registration for defaulters and private candidates for the 2024/2025 service year is now open for Ghanaian citizens who were unable to enrol for their national service scheme (NSS) in previous years after completing their tertiary education.
Eligible applicants include previous applicants who started but could not complete their national service, private applicants certified by accredited tertiary institutions, and Ghanaian nationals who have studied abroad.

For the NSS registration

To register, applicants must submit the following documents:

1. A letter requesting a PIN Code or reactivation of PIN Code
2. A certified true copy of the school certificate or transcript
3. Evidence of Deferment Letter (if applicable)
4. An Attestation/Introductory Letter from the institution attended
5. A copy of the Ghana
6. A copy of Student ID
7. Original copies of these documents must be attached for verification. Foreign students must provide proof of study abroad.

All eligible candidates for the NSS Registration are required to submit registration documents to any of the NSS Regional Offices of the Scheme across the country or the NSS Headquarters in Accra from today, April 10, 2024, to Friday, June 28, 2024, between the hours of 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., except weekends and public holidays.

The public is reminded that the Ghana National Service (NSS) Scheme Act, 1980 (Act 426), mandates any person who is a citizen of Ghana has attained the age of eighteen years or more and has completed an accredited tertiary institution to undertake national service to the State.
