Controller & Accountant-General’s Department Announces Mop-Up Payroll Audit for August 2025

The Controller and Accountant-General’s Department (CAGD) has announced a mop-up nationwide payroll audit (national headcount) for staff who could not participate in the earlier exercise conducted in June 2025.

This follow-up exercise is crucial for ensuring accurate payroll data and compliance across all government institutions.

Mop-Up Payroll Audit Schedule

The payroll audit mop-up has been scheduled as follows:

  • Date: Thursday, 21st August to Friday, 22nd August 2025

  • Time: 9:00 am – 3:00 pm daily

  • Venue: National Accounts Directorate Conference Room, Block A, Treasury Headquarters (Accra)

Who Must Attend?

All staff under the Government of Ghana (GoG) payroll and the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) payroll who missed the June 2025 payroll audit are required to take part in this exercise.

Staff are expected to present the following documents during the audit:

Importance of the Mop-Up Payroll Audit

The nationwide payroll audit is a critical accountability measure aimed at:

  • Verifying and cleaning government payroll data.

  • Eliminating ghost names and irregularities.

  • Ensuring that only eligible staff remain on the GoG and GRA payrolls.

Management strongly advises all affected staff to comply with this mandatory exercise. Failure to do so may result in payroll challenges, including possible suspension from salary processing.

All affected staff are encouraged to take this exercise seriously, attend on time, and bring the required documents. This mop-up presents the last opportunity for staff who missed the June payroll audit to regularize their records.
