Captain Smart of Onua TV has disclosed that Dr. Bawumia was poisoned in 2018. During his usual programme on Onua TV, he stated that the Vice President was poisoned, leading to his seeking urgent medical attention in the UK after efforts by local experienced doctors failed due to the lack of the needed medical equipment to deal with the situation.
He referred to a news publication by the Daily Guide Network titled “Bawumia Bounces Back.” The first two paragraphs of the said publication read, “Bogus speculations largely coming from the camp of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to the effect that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has either been ‘poisoned’ or ‘knocked’ down by a mild stroke have backfired. This is because an audio-visual recording has gone viral, especially on social media, showing the vice president in a hearty mood.”
However, following the alleged poisoning of the now deceased Deputy Finance Minister, Dr. John Kumah, Captain Smart has challenged the Vice President and Flagbearer of the ruling NPP, Dr. Bawumia, to deny the information he has put out.
“What are we talking about here? What happened before Bawumia was rushed to the UK? It got to a time when people alleged that Bawumia had a mild stroke. Am I telling lies? (Twi)..”
“Which stroke? He was poisoned. When you meet him, Captain Smart says it. If he says I am lying, he should join me in this studio or invite me to any media studio anywhere in the world.”
“If he doesn’t agree with me, he should sue me and leave the Media General. Bawumia was poisoned. Ask him the last time he even drank common water at a cabinet meeting.”

He indicated that when Dr. Bawumia was poisoned, the Second Lady, Samira, was scared she was going to lose her husband. According to him, the vice president had to be rushed to the UK to seek help since the facilities in Ghana could not help as his health deteriorated.

He furthered that the issue of poisoning in the NPP has become common, and he wonders why it has become part of the party.
