According to the letter from GES cited by Ghanaeducation.org, the decision to interdict the eleven (11) teachers who acted professionally as examination officers in 2020 was based on a report by WAEC.
The letter indicated that the teachers in question admitted that they engaged in examination malpractices that were contrary to Section 3.32 (III) of the Code of conduct for staff of the Ghana Education Service (GES).

However, the GES indicated that since the termination of appointment requires the Ghana Education Service Council, the said officers of the service should be interdicted pending the final determination of the matter by the GES Council.
