GES Speaks: There Is No Accommodation Problem In GHANASCO For Headmaster To Turn Toilet Into Dormitories
There Is No Accommodation Problem In GHANASCO
A viral video circulating on all social media platforms has sparked some controversies on social media. The Ghana Education Service (GES) has finally spoken on the issue as they denied all liars and rumors spreading all over the country.
According to a news update, the headmaster and his Housemaster at GHANASCO have been suspended by Ghana Education Service (GES) for turning a toilet facility into a dormitory for students to use as their place of residence.
Ever since the issue is in the public domain, many people are of the view that the school (Ghana Senior High School) does not have enough accommodation for students. Others also complained bitterly about one of the major consequences of the Free Senior High School policy which was not implemented well; the overpopulation of students compile the headmaster and his housemates to convert a secret place (toilet) into a dormitory.
According to the release from Ghana Education Service, all news about the lack of accommodation at GHANASCO Should be disregarded and treated as fake because the school can even accommodate additional 300 students without turning or converting a toilet into a dormitory before students can be admitted to stay.
“This is very disturbing and unfortunate especially when records available to us indicate that, out of the 1790 vacancies declared by the school, only 1467 students have enrolled. The school is expected to have excess capacity to even house extra 300 students. It is thus, unacceptable to have students sleep in such a place.
“The Headmaster and the Senior Housemaster have been directed to step aside to allow for further investigations into the matter by the Regional Director of Education and report back in two weeks,
