GES Visited Selected Schools To Welcome Pupils
The Ghana Education Service, GES visits selected schools in the Western Region of Ghana to welcome students /pupils who have been promoted to their new grades under the school system. Ghana Education Service (GES) is the mandatory body in charge of supervision and monitors of schools as well as providing necessary logistics for all basic schools in Ghana.
According to the academic calendar for the basic schools in Ghana, students went on vacation on the 15th of September 2023. The calendar further stated that the resuming date to be on the 3rd of October 2023.
Following the resuming date for all basic schools in Ghana, the leadership of the Ghana Education Service GES visits some selected schools to welcome the pupils to their new grades. The focus of the visitation is to welcome the younger ones who are now coming into the basic school from kindergarten to Basic 1 schools. This is to increase the readiness of the pupils and encourage them about the need to always be in school. The arrival of the pupils was termed my first day at school. The pupils were given drinks and other stationeries as a means to make them stay in school and continue coming to school every day.
“We are glad and impressed with what we have seen so far. We made visits to some selected schools in the Western Region to welcome the young ones. The attendance was very good and we were very happy with what we saw. We appreciate the good works of all teachers across the country and we encourage them to keep up with their good works. This is clear evidence that we have a great future in our educational system”. – Director General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Dr. Eric Nkansah Stated.
