The former Communication Director of the New Patriotic Party, Nana Akomea, has finally reacted to Former President Mahama’s speech on the economy yesterday. Nana Akomea is also currently the CEO of the State Transport Company. Ghanaians appreciate Nana Akomea for his neutral and frank approach when reacting to national issues.
So far, there has been no positive feedback from any member of the ruling New Patriotic Party about Mahama’s speech. Nana Akomea has exceptionally agreed with one comment and suggestion that Mahama made to the government. Mahama, yesterday shared his observation on the expenditures of the government. He identified the creation of redundant agencies that have overlapping roles with top Ministries, as an item that increases government expenditure. An example that John Mahama identified is the creation of GEA, MASLOC, and others. According to him, the roles of these agencies are primarily the same as the role of the Ministry of Labour and Employment. Mahama suggested that the government merge these duplicate agencies.

I Agree With Mahama: Nana Akomea Boldly Reacts To Mahama’s Speech
Reacting to that, Nana Akomea expressed his total agreement with Mahama on this.
“I support the idea of merging duplicate institutions”, he said on Good Morning Ghana show.
However, the NPP “spirit” in Nana Akomea chose to condemn Mahama on his other suggestions.
“We live to see how the rebranding of Prez Mahama will go. Because we already know his quantity. He’s been Vice President and President for eight years so all we need to do is to check his track record for that period. Did Prez Mahama sack his finance Minister when he had the same fiscal instability?…. in fact he was asked to sack Seth Terkpe and he said he won’t so why is he prescribing the same for another? Prez Nana Addo met with Market women, GUTA, and AGI. All his recommendations are known structural issues.”
