La District Junior Youth 2024 BECE Mock: Ghana Education News partners with the Presbyterian Church
Ahead of the much anticipated 2024 BECE, the Ghana Education News (Education News Consult) has partnered with the Presbyterian Church of Ghana-La District Junior Youth for their 2024 district mock examination, which aims at preparing candidates for that fellowship with the church for the pending examination.
The La District’s Vredes, Nativity, Beersheba, Nazareth, Galilie, La-Bethel, and Hosanna congregations will produce the candidates for the Special La District Junior Youth 2024 BECE.
The special 2024 BECE mock further aims at exposing learners to examination questions that seek to challenge students, give them an opportunity to test their readiness, and help them assess themselves with critical thinking and problem-solving questions towards the BECE.
The following is a summary of the tips shared with candidates ahead of the La District Junior Youth 2024 BECE Mock of the Presbyterian Church.
- Read through the questions, brainstorm, and plan your answers before you finally answer them. This is one of the best ways to manage your time during an exam and perform well.
- Write clearly, use simple expressions, and provide the best answers possible.
- Write answers that provide additional information. If you only list or provide one- to three-word answers, you will fail the paper.
- Do well to explain your answers to help earn full marks. Check your units of measurement, spelling, and grammar, and read over your work before submitting.
- Write question numbers boldly, and start each major question (answer) on a new page.
- Do not rewrite the full question before answering. Only write the question number.
- If the question involves calculations, show the workings in all instances in Section B.
As part of preparations for the examination, which starts on Sunday, May 12, 2024, the Education-News Consult engaged over 150 candidates of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana-La District Junior Youth in a two-week pre-examination conference to inspire applicants, provide tips on how to prepare for their BECE, and also teach them how to answer questions.

In all, the candidates will be writing eight subjects. These are English language, religious and moral education, mathematics, integrated science, computing, social studies, career technology, and creative arts and design.
The conference also taught candidates how to avoid losing marks in the examination by stressing how candidates lose marks in the examination hall.
Speaking at the programme, the team lead at Education-News Consult, Mr. Wisdom Hammond, stressed the need for candidates to always read through their answers and correct errors, provide answers that are reachable with useful information, and avoid writing lazy answers (answers that contain 1–6 words) as answers where the examinable experts provide an explanation supported by an example. He advised the candidates to write answers that do not give examiners the chance to deduct marks from what the candidates should score.

The Presbyterian Church, under the leadership of the La District Junior Youth leaders, has been commended for the initiative which has become an annual event on the calendar for the Junior Youth as it continues to prioritise the academic success of its junior youth congregants preparing for the BECE.
Such efforts continue to shape the church’s future human resource base and serve as a reminder for all churches to take a keen interest in their youth’s education needs in order to prepare them for the future.
