MoE announces deadline to release school placement results of 2024 BECE graduates
If not released on Saturday, October 26, 2024, the computer school placement results of students who sat for the 2024 BECE will be out on Sunday, October 27, 2024, the Public Relations Officer for the Ministry of Education, Kwasi Kwarteng has said.
Speaking to Accra-based Citi FM monitored by GhanaEducation.org, the Education Ministry spokesperson said measures have been put in place to ensure smooth computer placement of students who sat for the 2024 BECE.
“I am very certain that hopefully by the weekend we should get the second cycle school placement results out and the fact that we are opening school does not necessarily mean that students are going to start full academic activities on October 30,” he stated.
The October 30, 2024, for 2024 BECE graduates to report to their various placed second-cycle schools, the spokesperson said is an opportunity for students to visit their schools and go through registration processes.
“This will enable second-cycle schools to also take the students through orientation which usually takes about two weeks before full academic exercise takes place,” the Education Ministry official said in the interview.
In a related development, the Ministry of Education (MoE) has introduced a new Computerised School Selection and Placement (CSSPS) portal for 2024 BECE graduates to check their SHS/TVET placement results.
Alongside the government CSSPS portal https://cssps.gov.gh, the Ministry of Education in a statement sighted by GhanaEducation.org said https://cssps.org will also be used for computer school placement results checking.
The introduction of the new portal comes after the Ministry in Charge of Education disclosed that the bandwidth for the official Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) portal has been increased to avoid issues of downtime amid high traffic.
The National Coordinator for CSSPS, Mark Sasu says over 569,000 candidates, comprising 282,703 males and 286,533 females from 19,505 Junior High Schools (JHSs) who sat for the national school examination will get second-cycle school placement.
According to him, four types of prospective students thus regular students, private students, foreign students and re-entry students will be processed for the 2024 computer SHS/TVET placement before Monday October 28, 2024.
