The new teachers’ posting requirements will affect all qualified teachers with at least a bachelor’s degree in education who would apply to be posted by the GES.
The GES, as part of efforts to beef up its human resources in the form of teachers in schools, has already started preparing for the opening of the teacher recruitment portal for all qualified and trained teachers.
The management of the service has revealed its resolve to ensure all teachers required in 2024 meet the posting requirements.
New GES Teachers’ Posting Requirements for 2024
If a teacher wants to be posted by the GES, he or she should take note of the following:
- He or she must have completed and passed the final-year College of Education Examination.
- Must have a bachelor’s degree certificate from a college of education or any recognised and accredited university in Ghana.
- Must have passed the Ghana Teacher Licensure Examination (GTLE).
- Per the requirements of the New GES Teachers’ Posting Requirements, the teacher must have completed the mandatory National Service.
In addition to the above, the teacher must have the following important documents ready and attach them when applying:
1. Birth Certificate
2. Senior High Certificate (WASSCE)
3. Junior High School Certificate (BECE)
4. SSNIT Number, TIN, or Ghana Card
5. NTC Certificate, among others.
Again, it is important to note that all trained teachers who qualify for GES postings in 2024 are required to verify if their credentials have been sent to GES by NTC.

What is the date for the opening of the 2024 Teacher Posting Recruitment Portal?
The NTC and the GES have not released any updates on this; however, it is expected that the portal will be opened for the reception of teachers before the end of March 2024.
Teachers who meet the above requirements are advised to keep an eye on the news publications on this portal and the social media handles of the GES and the NTC for the latest updates.

How To Verify Teacher Posting Eligibility
In a related development, the GES has released steps to be used by teachers to check and verify their credentials and whether they have been sent successfully to the GES for posting purposes.
To verify your data, follow the steps below.
1. Visit the Verification Portal: https://tpg.ntc.gov.gh/public/teacher/verify-gtle-index-number.
2. Enter your GTLE Exam ID.
3. Click on Submit to Verify.
4. An SMS notification will be sent to your phone, confirming your details. This SMS is an indication that your details are in the process of being considered for posting.
Just in case you do not receive an SMS after going through the above process, contact the NTC for further clarification and assistance. Teachers are advised not to pay for this service since it is free.
