As Ofori-Atta continued to trend for hours, news broke that the president’s cousin had reportedly been offered a second post. There has been talk on Asaase Radio about the former finance minister taking on a top advisory role for the president’s economic policy. His remit would extend to overseeing capital markets and overseas investments in particular. There was a fresh round of reactions to the announcement, with some Twitter users speculating that Ofori-Atta’s new position indicates he is still involved in Ghana’s economic management.

According to Citizens for Good on Twitter: AUDACITY. The Ghanaian economy collapsed. NO ACCOUNTABILITY. Corruption, stealing, and looting. Akuffo Addo now appoints Ken Ofori-Atta, and maybe for others, “Adviser,” a personal international investor and capital markets consultant. Now Ken Ofori-Atta can transfer offshore?
Nana Addo: He is finally joining Nana, Gabby, and Bediatou at the Jubilee House. It is now easy for them to plan and plot. Unless we run,.
Hakeem: Neither Ghana is for you nor your boss. He was vited out of office and rejected again when he tried coming back… Clearly, Ghanaians don’t want him, so why are you guys still bringing him down?
