The Ghana Education Service in a letter dated 10th April 2022 has informed all public schools to allow their students to take part in the 2022 Republic Day Parade for school cadets at the request of the National Cadet Corps.

The 2022 Republic Day Parade for Cadets is under the theme “Working Together As Youth, Bouncing Back Together”. The Chief of Staff, of the office of the President of Ghana, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare is expected to be the Guest of Honour and the receiving officer of the 2022 Republic Day Parade.

Other activities planned to celebrate the 2022 Republic Day celebration of Ghana by the National Cadet Corps include a National Music Competition for selected school cadets with Band on29th June 2022 at the Ghana National Fire Service School in Accra.

On the same day, a National Drills Competition will be held at the Ghana Police Depot for selected cadets

While the event aims at helping cadets across the country to commemorate Ghana’s Republic Day, it also offers an opportunity for cadets to develop the spirit of volunteerism, patriotism, and good citizenship.  Schools are to permit their cadets to participate in the events of the National Cadet Corps and ensure that two teachers (a male and a female) accompany the cadet representatives of the school to the event.
