Qatar 2022 World Cup: Brazil Outclasses Ghana in World Cup Friendly (3-0 Goal Video Highlights)
The Ghana Black Stars, one of Africa’s five representatives to be in Qatar for the 2022 World Cup, lost their first preparation match against the Brazilian National team in a game dominated in all sections by the five-time world champions.
Ghana started the game on a bad note, haven lost Thomas Partey, the midfield linchpin of the team, courtesy warm-up injury.
Marquinhos scored in the 9th minute, while the two other goals were scored by Richarlison in the 28th and 40th minutes. Brazil had 6 shorts on goals as against Ghana’s 1. The first half ended 3-0 in favour of Brazil, who looked good in the first half. Ghana’s defensive back was porous in the first half and got punished three times.
Three goals down, Ghana came into the second half strongly and played some good football with a few chances that they failed to convert. The first-half tactics by Atto Addo did not help the team as Ghana went down by 3 goals by the end of the first half.
The Black stars team looked disjointed from defense to attack in the first half, the second-half performance made it impossible for Brazil to play their kind of game. Ghana grew in confidence with the introduction of Inaki Williams as Ghana’s goal poacher, Ghana looked more aggressive and hungry for a goal in the second half.
The introduction of Salisu in the second half for Ghana stabilized Ghana’s defence as he did all the dirty work at the back for Ghana, which denied Brazil clear chances in front of goal. Ghana played better and more compact in the second half.
By virtue of the 3-0 win by Brazil, they have extended their unbeaten run to 14 games without a loss and the 5th win against Ghana in all competitions at the Senior National team level. The game against Brazil was a good exercise for the Black stars.
