QUESTION 1
i. COPY AND COMPLETE THE TABLE
REASON WHY GROUNDNUT WAS INCLUDED IN THE CROP ROTATION PLAN
Grandaunt is a leguminous crop and nitrogen fixing bacteria live on the root nodules. Their
activities in the soil enrich the soil with nitrates. The nitrates maintain the fertility of the
soil.
iii. PRINCIPLES OF CROP ROTATION PROGRAMME.
Crops that use more nutrient should be follow by crops that use fever nutrient.
Crops with deep root should followed by crops with shallow roots.
A fallow period should be included in the crop rotation programme.
Crops from the same family should not follow each other.
Legumes should be added in the crop rotation progarmme.
