Only two months enter into the month of election for the New Patriotic Party NPP where they will elect their presidential candidates and Parliamentary Candidates. The Ashanti Regional Chairman of Elephant Party, famously known as Chairman Wontumi warns Kennedy Agyapong ahead of 2023 NPP’s presidential and parliamentary elections.

Following the resignation of Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng from the New Patriotic Party in forming the Movement for Change, it is clear that there has been confusion within the New Patriotic Party NPP ahead of their primaries. During one of his campaign tours in Ghana, Honorable Kennedy Agyapong (A presidential Candidate aspirant) dares Chairman Wontumi to stay in his lane as this election is approaching. This is because Chairman Wontumi has openly declared his support for another Presidential aspirant in the person of His Excellency Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. Kennedy Agyapong is of the great view that, Chairman Wontumi has no right to openly declare his support for particular candidates since he happens to be a Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. In the words of Honorable Kennedy Agyapong, he blasted Chairman Wontumi for his broken English even in the public space.

In response to the words of Kennedy Agyapong, The Regional Chairman of the NPP, Chairman Wontumi made his words known without fear. Chairman Wontumi made it clear that this should be the last warning to Kennedy Agyapong and the next time he (Kennedy Agyapong) dares him (Chairman Wontumi), he is going to invite the Police service to arrest him for his words.
