Date Public Service Workers Salary Increase Will Take Effect Out Along With Teachers Promotion New Scale Confirmation Date.

Following the conclusion of the 2025 public service workers’ salary negotiations with the government, workers are yet to see the 10% increase reflected in their salaries.

Reliable information available to Ghana Education News indicates that the government is working on the payment of the approved new salaries, which will also include arrears from January 2025.

At the time of filing this report, the 10% salary increment had not been paid for any month in 2025. It has been scheduled NOT to be paid in March 2025.

“The 10% salary increment for public service workers won’t be paid in March 2025,” our source confirmed. However, it is likely to be paid in April 2025, with arrears from January to March 2025 also expected to be paid in the same month.

Teachers promotion and correct salary scales (ranks) date

In a related development, the first batch of staff who were promoted last year will be placed on their correct salary scales (ranks) this month, March 2025, while the second batch will be placed on their respective ranks at a later date.

The government is expected to update the general public in the coming days and confirm the date for payment of the new salaries. Teachers and teacher unions are expected to exert more pressure on the government to ensure those promoted are finally placed on their earned ranks. This must coincide with the payment of their new salaries, which correspond to their new positions in the service.
