The West African Examination Council (WAEC) would hold a Distinction Awards ceremony for 2020 & 2021 candidates who sat for the WASSCE examination for school candidates (SC).
The ceremony was communicated to the general public through the examining council’s Twitter handle since its websites have been down and not accessible for close to a week.
Thursday, 30th June, has been set aside for the awards.
The International Excellence Awards were instituted by the Board of Trustees of the WAEC Endowment Fund in 1984 to honor candidates with exceptional performance.
The WAEC Distinction Awards Ceremony for 2020 & 2021 WASSCE (SC) for deserving students is under the theme “70th years of reliable educational assessment”.
The day of the awards may be attributable to the disruptive global Covid-19, which impacted education and the entire global village for nearly two years.
