WAEC Extends 2021 Private BECE Registration Time
The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has extended the time for the registration of BECE private candidates for the 2021 Examination.
The release of the 2020 BECE results and School Placements has shown that over 40,000 candidates were not placed in any school because they scored grade 9 in either Mathematics or English.
The new closing date for interested candidates is the 2021 Private BECE is March 19th March 2021.
The examination is scheduled to be written from April 12, 2021.
The 2021 BECE Private Examination will offer a second lifeline to all candidates who sat for the 2020 BECE but could not make the grades for admission into any of the secondary schools.

These students upon checking their placement status were not placed in any school neither were they offered the Self-Placement option.
WAEC, the Non-governmental organization in its latest blog post indicated the late 2020 private BECE late registration starts March 1, 2021, and ends on 19th March 2021.
The examination is also opened to persons who have turned 16 and had previously written the examination but could not pass.

Students interested in the examination are required to provide their biodata, during the registration.
The following are the subjects available to candidates:
- English Language
- Ghanaian Language and Culture
- Social Studies
- Integrated Science
- Mathematics
- Basic Design and Technology
- Religious & Moral Education
- Information and Communications Technology
- French (optional)

Students and parents are encouraged to take advantage of this Private BECE and better their grades to benefit from the Free SHS.
