WAEC Website Hacked Ahead Of Results Release
The official website of Ghana’s West Africa Examination Council (WAEC), www.waecgh.org has been hacked by some cybercriminals.
All education-related content on the website has been erased and replaced with gambling contents as shown in the picture below.
In 2017, similar issue happened where all educational contents were replaced with other stuffs ahead of the release of the results.
“Our systems have been hacked and fake results have been posted to our servers. Our cyber security team is currently working on the problem,” the purported statement to have been issued by management.
Technical team of WAEC is currently working tirelessly to restore the website.
This comes few days after WAEC began the marking of the 2023 BECE and WASSCE scripts. The marking process, as outlined in the schedule, will take a period of two weeks. This means, the 2023 BECE scripts will be marked completely on Monday, 23rd October 2023. During this period, the examiners will apply their expertise to assess the papers submitted by the 600,714 candidates who took part in the examination.

2023 BECE Grading System.
The BECE Grading system has been designed in a way that there is nothing like ‘Fail’ on the result slip of candidates. Unlike the WASSCE which shows ‘FAIL’ for marks less than 35, BECE shows LOWEST grade. This clearly means that there is nothing like fail in BECE.
