10 things you cannot do after the release of 2023 school placements (Check 6,8 and 9)
The release of the 2023 school placements will usher all 2023 JHS graduates into an SHS1 mindset and mood; however, there are important dos and don’ts for all students and parents after the release of the 2023 school placements.
Dos and Don’ts After the Release of 2023 School Placements
- Do not attempt to change your placement through any illegal middleman or woman.
- All students who are not placed but passed the examination must use the self-placement module.
- Do not pay any bribes to get your school placement changed.
- Call only the official GES number for support and help.
- You cannot change the programme you are offered in a free SHS school.
- You cannot change the accommodation from day to boarding or vice versa in a free SHS school.
- You cannot seek to transfer from one school to another as an SH1 student until you get promoted to SHS2.
- You cannot change a school you were automatically placed in.
- You cannot visit the school placement centre for correction and attack personnel stationed there to help you solve your challenges.
- You cannot force yourself to be placed in a free SHS if you failed in Maths or English or your results have been withheld by WAEC.
- Do not report to the school ahead of the stated date on your placement slip because the school management will not attend to you.
Some of the SHSs have websites where they upload their prospectuses/enrollment forms and details. After you are placed, check their website to find these details so that there will not be the need to travel to the school to pick them up unless you want to have a first peep at your new school for your secondary school education journey.
