2021 BECE begins today in 2,158 centres nationwide

The 2021 BECE begins today Monday, 15th November 2021 in 2,158 centres nationwide. Some 571, 894 candidates will be administered with questions by WAEC.
This year, the first two subjects to be written by candidates is Social Studies and French Language. One key expectation of the public from WAEC, the Non-Governmental organization is for WAEC to beef up security to prevent or foil leakages to ensure its credibility is not questioned.
Mrs Agnes Teye-Cudjoe, Head of Public Affairs at the West African Examinations Council’s National Office, told the media that the Council has placed strong security precautions to avoid examination leaks in this year’s assessments.
To ensure the pre-examination processes are secured, WAEC with Nation security apparatus like the National Intelligence Bureau oversaw the production process of the questions to be administered. The printing, sorting, and packaging of the papers were all monitored. WAEC has disclosed that the 2021 examination would be free of leakages before and during the examination nationwide.

She said officials of the National Intelligence Bureau monitored the production process – printing, sorting, and packaging of the papers- and were confident that there would be no leakages of the papers before and during the exams.

While Mr. Peter Korda, Head of Public Relations, Ghana National Association of Teachers, has indicated the 2021 BECE results would be better, the GES has called on all stakeholders to desist from all forms of examination malpractice.
