Ghana Education News: Help deal with Uni. Graduate Unemployment, delayed scholarships, students loans
The leadership of the University Students’ Association of Ghana visit Hon. Yaw Osarfo Marfo as part of efforts to bridge the gap between student leadership and leaders of the nation.
Mr. Christian Philip Armah, President of the University Students’ Association of Ghana (USAG), and his Executives paid a solidarity visit to Hon. Yaw Osarfo Marfo, Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic on 25th August 2021.
The student leaders applauded Hon. Marfo for his commitment towards serving the nation and the feat chalked in his outfit and in previous positions including former minister of education.
In the meeting, the leadership of USAG reiterated the issues of unemployment especially among the Ghanaian university graduates, and the need for government to consider the Ghanaian university student as well as graduates in programmes and projects related to the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCTA).
The executives relayed concerns from member SRCs on Accommodation and Hikes in Hostel prices on university campuses across the nation, Security threats, Delay in the disbursement of grants from the Scholarship Secretariat and the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).

The leadership seized the opportunity to plead that he (Hon. Yaw Osarfo Marfo) aids in fast-tracking the cabinet memo on the Ghana card policy (I.e. NO GUARANTOR) for SLT Fund.
The issues tabled such as Graduate Unemployment, delayed scholarships, students loans remain some of the big challenges confronting tertiary students in Ghana.
