2022 BECE result date postponed: Check the new date
The PRO of the Ministry of Education, Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng, disclosed that the 2022 BECE result for JHS graduates was to be released on 19th January 2023. New information coming in is that, the result release date for BECE graduates has been postponed to Saturday, 21st January 2023.
The new date for the release of the results falls on Saturday. Very often, the WAEC does not release results on Saturdays. It is not clear why the result release date has been postponed.
The new date given by Mr. Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng is 21st January, 2023.
“God willing within the 19th to 21st of January 2023, we are hopefully expecting the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) to release the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination results,” Mr. Kwasi Kwarteng stated.
Ghana Education News projects that the results may further be delayed and released on Monday, 23rd January. Ahead of the release of the 2023 WASSCE WAEC disclosed the result date, but it delayed its release by nearly 48 hours. If this approach is anything to go by, Monday 23rd January looks more likely.
Currently, the Ghana Education Service has announced that from 14th January to 22nd January, the candidates and parents are to visit school verification portal to verify their school choices ahead of the results. 2022
Again, given that the 2022 BECE school Choice verification ends on Sunday, 22nd January. This closing date also makes the releasing of the results on Monday 23rd January more likely than the Saturday, 21st January announced, which falls within the school verification period.
The GES was clear that the results will be released after the end of the School Choice Verification.
How to verify 2022 school selection choices via shortcode
1. Using the USSD shortcode of*899*88# on your phone to start the verification process.
2. Next, choose option 1 so that you can see the school file
3. Key in your 2022 BECE index Number
4. Key in the 4-digit token or code you received

Where there are errors in your school choices, go to your JHS for help in correcting any errors. Make sure you visit your school early and get help to compare the list of schools online with the those on the form you submitted to the school.
