Answer four questions in all. All questions carry equal marks.

2x study only Algebra and 3 study neither Algebra nor statistics. Each student study at least one of the two subjects.

2. (a) Consider the cone shown below

Calculate the (i) Curved surface area
(ii) Volume
(b) Find the quotient of 4296 and 4

(ii) Multiply (3x-2) by (3y+4)

4.The price of a machine is given as GH¢ 20,000.00 plus VAT. If the VAT rate is 12%, find the price that a customer must pay for the machine.
A shop buys goods for GH¢ 40.00 and sells them for GH¢ 48.00. Calculate the percentage profit.
The interior angles of a pentagon are 100°, x°, (3x + 30)°and 80°. Find the value of x.
