2023 School Selection: Category ‘A’ Girls Schools In The Eastern Region
The Eastern region is one of the regions in Ghana with most senior high schools. The region currently has over 99 senior high schools. Out of this number, only nine(9) falls under category ‘A’ schools. Out of these nine schools, three are all girls(females) school.
Academic performance in the region is very encouraging. They have good passing records. Let’s take a look at the Category ‘A’ Girls’ schools in the region
1. Aburi Girls’ Senior High School
Aburi Girls’ Senior High School, is a Presbyterian all-girls senior high boarding school located south of Aburi in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful SHS in Ghana. It is also the best girls school in the region.
Between 2011 and 2015, the school cleared the top awards in two categories in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) winning Best in Mathematics and Science. Also in 2015, the school won the three top awards in the National Best School and Best Teacher Awards for the Senior High School Division for the Eastern Region

2. St. Rose’s Senior High School
St Roses Senior High (Rosec or Roses) is an all-female second-cycle high school in Akwatia in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It is one of the best Girls’ school in the country.
St. Rose’s Senior High School was founded in November 1965 by the Dominican Sisters from Speyer, Germany. The school first started as a teacher training college with 80 students but in September 1969, the teacher training college was changed over into a secondary school with the initial enrollment of 72 students
3. Krobo Girls’ Senior High School
Krobo Girls’ Senior High School is an all-female second-cycle institution in Odumasi Krobo in the Eastern Region of Ghana. It is one of the best girls school in the region. No wonder it is a category ‘A’ school. They have good teachers and good students.
