The Ghana Education News team can confirm from a reliable source that the delayed 2024 WASSCE results will be released before Christmas. According to our source, the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will release the WASSCE results for school candidates by the end of this week.
Students and stakeholders should expect the results to be released soon, specifically before Monday, 23rd December 2024. The release of the results will help tertiary institutions complete their admission processes and release admission lists and letters to all students who applied for admission and met the academic requirements.
Ahead of the release of the 2024 WASSCE results, WAEC is expected to release the 2024 WASSCE result checker vouchers for sale through wholesale and retail outlets across the country.
The delay in the results has been attributed to the government’s indebtedness to WAEC, amounting to approximately GHS 118 million. WAEC, however, disclosed that the direct cause of the delay was the breakdown of its objective test scanners, which occurred while the objective test answers were being marked in November.
All SHS graduates who sat for the 2024 WASSCE for school candidates should look out for more updates on the results in the coming days.
Candidates who do not achieve the required grades are advised to take advantage of the WAEC-organized Private WASSCE, scheduled for January 2025. Others can also apply for diploma programmes in public and private universities if they do not meet the required grades for first-degree programmes.

When the results are released, students will need their valid WASSCE result checkers to access the results on WAEC’s official portal for result checking in Ghana.
Students who engaged in any form of cheating during the examination should expect their results for specific subjects or their entire results to be cancelled by WAEC when the results are finally released by WAEC in the coming day.
