2025 KNUST Admission: WASSCE Aggregate Must Not Exceed 24 – Admission Office
The official admission office of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has disclosed that, for the 2025 admission, the aggregate obtained by a student for any programmes applied for, must not exceed an aggregate of 24.
This latest update comes a few hours before the close of admissions, which ends at midnight on 3rd January 2025.
“For KNUST admission, applicants are to note that the total aggregate score for the six subjects must “NOT” exceed an aggregate of “24” for WASSCE holders.” The blog post by the school was sighted by Ghana Education News.
Ahead of the latest update, KNUST had already released New cut-off grades for KNUST 2024/2025 undergraduate admissions.
The above update has been described as part of efforts by the university to make admission competitive and to cut off some applicants. Students who apply for programmes but have grades that do not match the cut-off points will not gain admission. This explains why the university has directed all WASSCE applicants to visit the admission portal to check the accuracy of their biodata and also make changes to programmes they have chosen so that the choices match their 2024 WASSCE results and the cutoff points. This will give them better chances of gaining admission.
The institution has also informed all medical school and dental school applicants to check the school’s admission portal from Sunday, 5th January 2025, for the shortlisted applicants for the entrance exam and interview to be conducted.
The 2025 KNUST Medical and Dental Schools Entrance Exam and Interview will be used to determine the final admission of applicants who applied to study the two programmes.
Applicants for admission into the School of Medical Sciences and the School of Dentistry for the 2024/2025 academic year are to note the following:
There will be an entrance examination and interview for all shortlisted applicants on Monday, 6th January 2025, at 8:00 a.m.
The admission list of the university is also expected to be released before the end of week two of January 2025.
The KNUST Directorate of Student Affairs has informed the public that students admitted to any program must pay at least 50% of the approved fees before they can register for courses. This will be implemented as soon as the admission process starts.
