Before the BECE results are released, it is important to know the 2025 BECE aggregates and the school you will likely be placed in. Knowing this, we help you get ready for the school placements as well. Knowing where you are likely to be placed can be good for your mental health. Do not expect to be placed in, say, Presec Boys to study science when you score aggregates like 11 to 19. Such aggregates cannot be placed in Presec Legon to study general science, and that is a fact.

Did you know that you can check your senior high school placement ahead of time with your BECE result aggregate? When the 2025 BECE results are released, the only thing that will be left is for BECE graduates to be placed in various senior high schools and TVET institutions.

The placement of Basic School graduates in the various senior high schools across the country is solely based on merit, which is the performance of candidates in their core subjects as well as their best two other subjects.

The chance of getting placed in your choice of school depends on the aggregate you obtained in your Basic Education Certificate Examination result. A good aggregate score means you are likely to also get a high raw score for school placement purposes. The better your performance, the higher the opportunity of getting placed in your first or second choice schools.

The 2025 BECE Aggregates and the Schools You Will Be Placed In:

All things being equal, candidates would get their preferred schools with their corresponding aggregates as provided in the list below. However, this does not apply in all situations, as there are some exceptions.

Here’s how:

Aggregate 06 to 10 – First Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 11 to 19 – Second Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 20 to 29 – Third and Fourth Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 30 to 35 – Fifth Choice Schools Placement

Aggregate 36 or More – Self Placement

BECE candidates are to note the following important information:

1. Parents are advised to save towards the purchase of provisions and other requirements for their children for secondary school education.

2. Also, prospective senior high school students, parents/guardians, and the general public are hereby cautioned against any form of payment to unscrupulous individuals offering to secure their preferred choice of school during the 2023 Computerized School Placement into senior high/TVET schools.

3. School placement is free. The senior high school you will be placed in will not charge you any fees. However, you may be given some items to buy as part of the items in the school’s prospectus.

4. School rules and regulations are quite similar to those of the junior high schools. Discipline is key. Lateness to school or to class is prohibited.
